Bio: Orla Lynskey is an Associate Professor at the LSE Law School and a Visiting Professor at the College of Europe, Bruges. Her expertise lies in EU data protection law and relationship between technology and regulation. She holds a PhD in EU data protection law from the University of Cambridge and law degrees from Trinity College Dublin and the College of Europe. She is an editor of Modern Law Review, a leading generalist law journal, and of International Data Privacy Law. She is also a member of the Ada Lovelace Institute's "Rethinking Data" working group. Her monograph, The Foundations of EU Data Protection Law, was published by Oxford University Press in 2015 and her subsequent work on data power and data governance has been published in respected journals and collections.
