Application Process

Applications are accepted at any time. The Graduate School’s selection committee meets on a regular basis to decide over existing applications.
 

Application Requirements

All existing doctoral researchers at KIT can apply for membership in the Graduate School. Applicants are asked to provide the following documents (in either English or German):

Completed Application Form, including the choice of a mentor from the ranks of our Principal Investigators
Letter of Motivation (max. 2 pages), detailing the topic of the doctoral thesis and its connection to the school’s research fields
Curriculum Vitae

University Diplomas (for both Bachelor's and Master's degrees)

Letter of Recommendation from primary supervisor and mentor (form)

Proof of registration at Docata (can be provided after admission)

Not Yet a Doctoral Researcher at KIT?

At KIT, were are always looking looking for new researchers that hold a master’s degree with very good grades in computer science, mechanical and electrical engineering, mathematics, psychology (preferably with a relationship to technology) or other related disciplines. Research assistants are expected to work towards their doctorate and are offered full-time positions in salary group TV-L E13 (ca. 51.000 – 55.000€ a year with 30 days of paid vacation).
