Retreat 2025

At this year's retreat the Graduate School members met off-campus to spend the afternoon discussing academia and research. After a welcome through the Graduate School's speaker Prof. Dr. Christian Wressnegger and a game to get to know each other, things got more serious.

In groups the participants approached some of the pressing questions surrounding good scientific practice and ethical dilemmas in a fast-changing research community. The most pressing topics were then discussed further in a plenary debate. 

Next, we focused on the different PhD topics. In peer review sessions, the participants gave each other advice and especially highlighted the strengths and innovative potentials of the different projects. 

Finally, with focus on the future of the Graduate School, we discussed the broader plans along with concrete feedback and ideas for the upcoming year. The day also held space for getting to know each other, welcoming new and potential members and networking within the community.
